Here Are Some Of The Most Popular Orange County Events This Holiday

Orange County is a place where there’s never a shortage of activities in which to participate at any point of the year, regardless of your interests. Around the holidays, though, as we approach 2019, there’s even more to choose from than usual. From tree-lighting ceremonies to animal-related holiday events, you can find the activity that you and the entire family will talk about many years down the line.

Snow Days with the Critters

If your kids love animals, then probably the zoo is already a favorite activity. This December you can take them to the Santa Ana Zoo on the 15th and 16th for a special Snow Days event. There will be storytelling, arts and crafts, and a chance to play educational games and enjoy the holiday decorations. You can even watch as some of the zoo denizens get to chow down on some frozen treats. All events are free with the price of admission to the zoo.

Holiday Treats with the Animals

A similar event is being held on the 8th and 9th of December at the Aquarium of the Pacific. Your kids will be thrilled to see divers interacting with sea otters, fish, sea lions, lorikeets, and penguins. There will also be a fantastic display of gingerbread houses, holiday decor, and music. In addition, in the Great Hall there will be an indoor snowfall, and the Cafe Scuba will feature a special holiday menu. Watch out for some Aquarium Characters in holiday garb as well.

Holiday Tree Lighting at Kaleidoscope

If a tree lighting is more your speed, you can head to Mission Viejo on December 7th. This is an evening of fun for your family featuring a photo booth, a chance to meet Santa, face painting, holiday crafts, and a sampling of many different foods. Students from the PAVE School of the Arts will also be there to put on a special presentation of A Storybook Nutcracker. Even Rudolph and Frosty will be on hand, helping to count down to the tree lighting.

Warm your heart this season and teach the kids all about the joy and camaraderie of the holidays.
