The 2019 Toyota Highlander Engine Specs

The 2019 Toyota Highlander Engine Specs

The Toyota Highlander has been one of Toyotas most popular SUV’s since it first debuted almost 20 years ago. A lot of its popularity stems from the powerful engine options that it has always employed. Irvine Toyota dealer has some great information about the Toyota Highlander engines.

What is the standard engine in the 2019 Toyota Highlander?

Every car comes with a standard engine option and for the Toyota Highlander, this happens to be a 2.7-liter 4 cylinder. This vehicle has 185 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque so this engine is very capable. This engine only comes standard on the base LE trim and only if you get it with the front-wheel-drive so if you want to go bigger, we understand.

Is there a V6 engine option for the Toyota Highlander?

When you want to upgrade from the 4 cylinder, the Highlander gives you a very impressive engine. This is a 3.5 liter V6 that produces up to 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes mated to a very smooth 8-speed automatic transmission as opposed to the 6-speed automatic that comes mated to the 4-cylinder engine option.

You can get the V6 engine on the standard LE Plus, XLE, SE, and Limited trims at Irvine Toyota dealer. It also comes standard on the LE trim when you get it with AWD.

Does the 2019 Toyota Highlander have auto engine start and stop?

Start and stop is a super convenient feature that turns off your engine when idling and starts back up when you take your foot off the brake. Other than a little extra peace and quiet and a drop on some of your gauges, you really won’t notice a difference. This is really good for your cars mpg and overall engine health since gas engines aren’t designed to idle for extended periods of time. This feature comes standard with most V6 highlander models and every trim from the LE plus on up includes this smart feature.
