We’ve Got Your Things To Do, Orange County

Looking for things to do, Orange County visitors? We’re always glad to help. With restaurants, shops, and so many rides, this part of sunny southern California never runs out of options. Read on for some of our favorites.

We’ve got to start the list with Disneyland, in Anaheim. For so many people, the movies and cartoons of the Disney brand were a nostalgic part of childhood, and to see an entire world created around those characters is truly something that young and old alike should experience firsthand. There’s a reason why it’s called “the happiest place on Earth.” Come find out why.

If you’re looking for a more low-key experience, try Heisler Park, in Laguna Beach. One of its better features is the walking and running trail, which turns and twists alongside the crystal-blue water. The carefully maintained landscaping creates a peaceful setting for those who want to get some exercise, or just sit in meditation on the sand and find their place of stillness before plunging back into their hectic lives.

The Balboa Island Ferry in Newport Beach is another great way to enjoy the outdoors, as you get some spray in your face and sun on your shoulders. The ferry goes from the mainland to Balboa Island, where many shopping and dining options will greet you. From the Balboa Peninsula, you can walk the half mile to the Wedge, to luxuriate on the sand and fritter away the afternoon. Bring along a good book, a frisbee, or a beach ball.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t include Knott’s Berry Farm on this list. This attraction, located in southwest Anaheim, features five different zones, each one loaded with roller coasters and other rides. You can also get a Ride and Slide ticket, which gets you access to Soak City Orange County. Watch out for Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the Peanuts gang, roaming around giving out hugs.

There’s plenty for Orange County visitors to pack into a day, a week, or even longer. We’ll be back next time with more suggestions on how to spend your vacation in beautiful southern California.
