Celebrate Star Wars Day in Orange County!

Star Wars fans annually celebrate the franchise and its cultural achievements on May 4th. This day was chosen as a pun on the famous phrase “may the force be with you.” If you are a fan of the franchise, then there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in some of the best Star Wars events in Orange County all month long. Go ahead and check out our suggestions below!

Disneyland Park

If you haven’t already visited Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland (also informally referred to as Star Wars land), now is the perfect opportunity to do so! Disneyland’s newest theme land opened on May 31, 2019, but unfortunately, many eager visitors were forced to postpone their trip when the park closed from March 2020 until April 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. There, you can ride two of the land’s attractions: Star Wars: The Ride of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. You can also check out Star Tours: The Adventure Continues over at Tomorrowland.

As of writing, proof of vaccination and masks are currently not mandated anywhere within the Disneyland Resort.

Star Wars Celebration at the Anaheim Convention Center (Thu, May 26 – Sun, May 29)

Is Disney too expensive for you? If so, no worries! Hope is not all lost. Besides, since May 4th falls on a Wednesday this year, we understand that there is a good chance that you will be busy and may have to postpone any fun events for the weekend. If that is the case, then we think that attending the Star Wars Celebration would be the perfect event idea for you! You can cosplay as your favorite character from the franchise or just simply bring a group of friends to meet fellow fans!

Guests ages 5 and up must show proof of vaccination to attend.

DIY events

If you are simply too busy to go down to Anaheim this month or you need to save some extra cash, you can always create your very own things to do in Orange County! You can stream your favorite Star Wars movies or one of the television series at home and watch them with your friends and family. Grab some popcorn or any of your other favorite snacks and enjoy a movie night together.

You can also try making some Star Wars-themed arts and crafts. Whether you have kids at home or not, there is no judgment here! Why not try making your own light saber or perhaps the famous Baby Yoda that is simply impossible for anyone to hate? If you still have your old Star Wars Lego toys from your childhood, you can try getting them out and playing with them again. Remember: Legos are designed for people up to 99 years of age!

There is virtually no wrong way to celebrate Star Wars Day. We hope you are inspired to unleash your inner geek on this special day. May the 4th be with you!
