Celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day in Orange County

Are you ready for Saint Patrick’s Day this year? It’s the day where you get to be Irish for a day, so we encourage you to go ahead and get excited about throwing on those green clothes, eat tons of potatoes, and drink up (responsibly!) There are multiple Saint Patrick’s Day Orange County events for you to look forward to, whether you are looking to have a good time with the kids or a night out with your bar buddies. Check it out!

Why do we celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day, anyway?

Saint Patrick was the National Apostle of Ireland. He is responsible for bringing Christianity to Ireland way back in the 5th century. It has been celebrated as a religious feast day since the 17th century. Religion as a whole is a big part of Irish culture. Just anyone who is a descendant! Even if you are not religious, it is honestly just a really fun holiday where you have a chance to be around energetic people who are able to enjoy the little things in life. Life is short, so why not have as much fun as you can, especially when you’re in a place as special as Orange County, CA?

Newport Beach Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

The people of Newport Beach are enthusiastic about Saint Patty’s Day. The beloved parade is finally making a return after 3 years on Saturday, March 12 from 2 to 8 pm. You will be able to see plenty of people dressed up as Leprechauns and wearing green wigs to celebrate the occasion. Come on down and get a sprinkle of the luck of the Irish.

Almost St. Patty’s Day Pub Crawl (Santa Ana)

If you are in or closer to Santa Ana, then we definitely recommend taking a look at this particular event. Buy a ticket right now so you can join in on the fun. There will be all sorts of games, photo ops, contests, and raffle giveaways. You must be at least 21 years old to attend this event.

Saint Patrick’s Day Full Moon Hike (Santiago Oak Regional Park)

If hiking is your thing, then you won’t want to miss out on this one-of-a-kind nighttime experience! Come on down from 7 to 8:30 pm for a leisurely hike in one of Orange County’s beautiful mountains. Like most of nature’s pleasures, it is completely free! Please keep in mind though that this event is not recommended for children and does not allow pets.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Pretend City (Irvine)

Take your kids for a fun day at Pretend City from 10 am to 3 pm. Children will be able to partake in activities such as creating rainbow ribbons, a treasure hunt, and a Lucky Leprechaun day. You may find yourself becoming nostalgic for those leprechaun hunts and other activities you enjoyed when you were a child.
