This Fall Season Will Feature Some Free Orange County Events For The Family To Enjoy

Fall is always a bittersweet time of year, as summer concludes and some parts of the country brace for the onset of colder temperatures. But in the OC it’s an occasion for celebration, as there are a plethora of free Orange County events that are sure to satisfy the most diverse of tastes. Here are some that we expect you and your young ones will most enjoy.

Orange County Children’s Book Festival

The Orange County Children’s Book Festival in Costa Mesa takes place on Sunday, September 30th. Children of all ages are welcome, and all parents who are young at heart. This festival attracts more than 30,000 every year, and it’s proof positive that reading is still a favorite pastime. Booksellers, authors, and illustrators will all be in attendance, and there will also be costumed characters, live animals, train rides, and crafts. A diverse selection of food will be available for sale as well. The event is as free, as is parking nearby.

German Unity Day Celebration

German food is some of the tastiest around, and in Huntington Beach, on October 4th you can sample some free. This most popular of OC events takes place at the Old World Village Festival Hall on Center Avenue. There’s plenty of food to go around, but it’s only free for the first 500 people in line with tickets; after that, you’ll have to pay. If some hearty German fare sounds appealing, this is the place to go, as this celebration of Oktoberfest is a true representation of the robust German spirit. A parent must accompany those under 21.

Tiller Days

The Tiller Days in Tustin is another one of those events that are eagerly awaited every year, and it’s this October 5th through the 7th. It has been happening since 1957, and it’s all about celebrating Orange County’s agricultural heritage. There’s no admission fee, and it’s a carnival atmosphere, with all sorts of rides, food, and entertainment. The Ferris wheel is always a hit, as are the shooting galleries.

With so many fun events upcoming in the OC, it can be a time for bonding and celebrating the onset of autumn. Have fun and stay safe out there. This blog is brought to you by Toyota of Orange, number one purveyor of cars for sale in Orange County.
