Activities You Can Do in Santa Monica During the Holidays

Are you visiting Santa Monica during the Holidays? If so, there are some activities that you could do while spending time with your family and loved ones. This article will show you some of the things that holiday visitors can do and go to. You can check out these activities after having your coffee in Santa Monica.

Art exhibition

One of the things that you can do after having your breakfast and the best coffee in Santa Monica is to visit an art exhibition. Ellen Schinderman, a known artist and feminist, will have her solo exhibit entitled “What I Did Last Summer” at bG Gallery. Most of her work showcases how to celebrate the pleasure of females and their bodies. The exhibit shows how Ellen uses images that are often thought of as pornographic and resituates them into a new form of context. The context of her art focuses on women as human beings that think and feel rather than objects of sexuality. Some of Ellen’s works were highlighted in the issuance of Hustler, Juxtapoz, Beautiful Decay, and LA Weekly. Most of her exhibits focus on what she did during the lockdown in Los Angeles due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Windows of Enchantment

Feel the spirit of the holidays even more at the historic Merry-Go-Round at Santa Monica Pier Area, decked with festive decors. Visitors can celebrate the iconic legacy of Santa Monica through the holiday-themed window displays. The windows of the historical hippodrome building will be decorated with unique and historical pieces to showcase the past stories of the pier. Artifacts and rare photos from the collections of local historians will also be displayed. You can visit the Merry-Go-Round after stopping by a coffee shop in Santa Monica and getting your coffee and breakfast there. The place is open from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Mondays & Thursdays and 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Fridays to Sundays.

Holiday Stories and Crafts

If you are anxious to look for activities that your kids can enjoy, fret no more. Kids who are into holiday stories and crafts are in for a treat. The Books and Cookies will host an event at the Merry-Go-Round building for creative kids or for those who are curious about any story. Books about holiday traditions will be read to children.

Other activities such as singing, dancing, and playing instruments will also be done during the event. For those who are into craft-making, the host will also hold activities with a sea- holiday theme. This event will be on December 15 from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. Those who cannot catch the event can also attend the event hosted by the Santa Monica Public Library. Children’s books that feature holiday traditions will be read to the public. The event will be on December 16 from 5:30 to 6:30 P.M., and this is free for all.

Conclusion

The holidays are a great way to spend time with your family and friends, and it is also an excellent excuse to do the things you long to do. Make sure to visit some of the events after having the best coffee and breakfast in Santa Monica.
