Why Should You Go to an OC Farm this Summer?

Have you been itching to go to a farm on your list of Orange County events to experience this year? If not, this list should definitely be able to convince you that it’s a great idea! Maybe you want to see some live animals, or perhaps pick some fresh fruits or veggies? Whichever sounds like a more appealing activity to you, you should definitely consider visiting some of these farms in Orange County to make new memories like never before!

Tanaka Farms (Irvine)

Founded in 1996 by Glenn Tanaka, Tanaka Farms is famous in the area! The Japanese-American family has worked hard for more than 25 years now to keep their farm clean and plentiful with only the freshest produce! Come on over to their u-pick fruit stand and take some of their astounding fruit home with you!

“I took my wife to the “Mothers Day Luncheon” last Sunday and had the best day ever. The place was clean and very organized, offering the best but most unique experience ever. A very welcoming place and served the best Lunch ever with farm-fresh food raised and picked right there in the spacious fields that you get to see and explore. A very complete day in a healthy, safe environment. Just a wonderful day that I can’t say enough about. Well worth the money as it gave us a fun day which we will remember forever. Just one note: great Kale salad.” – Ken A., Buena Park

South Coast Farms Farmstand (Dana Pointe)

Having opened the same year as Tanaka Farms, South Coast Farms Farmstand has delighted its guests with its garden-fresh vegetable and fruit farmstand. Come on over from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm for the farmstand or Thursday to Sunday for the U-pick from 10 am to 4 pm for a spectacular time!

“Okay, can we just talk about their strawberries!? So sweet and delicious! Outs Whole Foods’ strawberries to shame – seriously!! I will never buy grocery store strawberries again. Love their little stand. They sell a variety of sizes for strawberries as well as other veggies. Also, love that they are grown without pesticides or chemicals. Their Instagram says they will be organic in November 2022. I plan to attend their U-pick with my daughter as well. So happy I found them.” – Ariana M., Newport Beach

Centennial Farm (Costa Mesa)

Looking to see some animals live and upfront? Then you should definitely check out Centennial Farm for Orange County events that are perfect for animal lovers! You can check out all the pigs and the cows at this three-acre working farm. Let’s be real: these are the kind of animals that could use more love from us, humans!

“Guys! It’s FREE, and there’s animals!! Come around lunch time and you’ll see the animals get fed! They currently have a little baby goat!” – Kristyn T., San Francisco
