Bee and Wasp Removal Services are Highly Sought in the Spring

The spring season is very important to honey bees because it is the time that new colonies emerge and grow as the queen lays eggs. During this rather busy time, it is common to notice more bee activity in suburban areas, community gardens, and parks. In this shared environment, bees may unknowingly invade our domestic spaces, in the hope of establishing their own colonies. This is when bee and wasp removal services become a critical resource for the community.

Anyone that finds a bee’s nest or wasp’s nest in their personal space may have the inclination to find a quick solution by themself. However, it is always best to call on professional services to diffuse the situation. The colony or swarm may not pose an immediate danger; however, when provoked with any disturbance, the insects could exhibit aggressive behavior and harm other bystanders.

Bee and wasp exterminators tell people that, while they shouldn’t try to take care of the situation themselves, they can take an active part in making the job easier for bee and wasp removal services. Here are some helpful practices for people to do before, during, and after a removal.

Before

When you first notice the infestation, try to take notes of the exact situation so that you can communicate with bee and wasp removal professionals. Can you tell what kind of insect it is? If not, can you describe what they look like? How many insects are involved? Do the insects seem to be agitated or calm? Exterminators will determine these factors once they conduct their inspection. However, it can help if they have an idea going in.

If, for some reason, you are not able to locate the nest right away then you will want to trust your ears. Listen for buzzing sounds coming from walls, ceiling panels, or floors. A good clue that you have found the source of the infestation is a hole or crevice on the surface, which signals the expansion of the nest.

When you have located the area of infestation, you will want to close it off as best you can in order to protect yourself and those around you from potential risk. Stay calm and still when insects are flying around you and try to distance yourself from them as soon as possible.

Some pets may become curious with the infestation, which is why it is so important to keep the area closed off. Protect yourself by wearing darker colors, avoiding perfume scents, and keeping smelly foods packed away. If anyone is allergic to bees, you will want to remove them from the place altogether.

During

When the removal services have arrived, you will want to share any new information that you have gathered about your infestation and then show them the area you have blocked off. Exterminators will check for damage and communicate as much as they can about the reality of the situation. Then, they will likely tell you their plan for removal. If you have any questions or concerns at this point, make sure to voice them.

Please be sure to follow any safety instructions that you are given. If you do not have any protective gear on, you should exit the site of infestation and stay close for any updates.

Keep children and pets away during this process.

After

When the removal is finished, your exterminator will likely follow up with some post-treatment guidelines and information. Be sure to listen to their advice as you finish any cleaning or repairs that are necessary in the following days.

Spring is a beautiful time of the year, but it is also a busy time for bees. Always trust a bee and wasp removal expert to handle your infestation problems as they arise.
