Things To Do In Orange County While Orange County Events Remain Canceled

Even though restrictions have loosened throughout Southern California, it is still hard to find Orange County events that the whole family can enjoy. Many have taken precautions and have decided to cancel until the following year, and others haven’t given any updates at all. Fear not, though, as there are still plenty of places to visit in the meantime that will provide hours of fun for the whole family.

Huntington Beach

Is it truly a visit to Orange County without a trip to the beach? Officially known as Surf City, USA, Huntington Beach is home to some of the most picturesque beaches in all of Orange County. There is always something to do, for anyone in the family: Fishing, surfing, sunbathing, biking, and much more!

Disneyland Resort

It may seem counterintuitive to discuss Disneyland Resort, considering they are still closed at the time of writing. However, that is soon to change. They have recently allowed guests to place orders for tickets for their reopening on April 30th. While that is still some days away, planning the trip now can ensure you can attend the park and enjoy the magic that Disneyland and California Adventure have to offer. Attractions, shows, dining, and shopping are just some of the activities that the resort has to offer, and there is truly something for everyone here, from the very young to the elderly.

  Bowers Museum

You learn something new every day, and there is no place better to do this than at Bowers Museum. Open since 1992 in its current form, the museum hosts a number of exhibits, displaying art not only from different world cultures but also art presenting the history of California. For those willing to spend a little extra, the museum also hosts an exhibit on the archives of Walt Disney. While Orange County events may be canceled or delayed, Bowers hosts its own events, allowing attendees of all ages to participate in educational activities that can stimulate the mind and allow everyone to have fun.

Orange County Zoo

Animal lovers rejoice, the Orange County Zoo is now open. Focusing on the wildlife and flora of southwestern United States, the zoo is home to animals such as black bears, mountain lions, red-tailed hawks, coyotes and so many more! While not as big as the other zoos of Southern California, this zoo has plenty of animals to see and plenty of activities to entertain the whole family. Take a guided tour or visit the barn, where the petting zoo awaits those looking to pet or feed some of the adorable creatures there.

Mission San Juan Capistrano

A look into the history of spirituality in California, Missions are a relic of a time long gone. Mission San Juan Capistrano, located in the heart of its namesake city, is no different. Whether or not you subscribe to the doctrine of Christianity, this beautiful piece of architecture is worth a visit. Aside from educational tours, there are also art exhibits that take you back in time to when the mission was first built. Events hosted by the mission become extravagant and make them that much more special.

Eventually, the state will fully reopen and we can enjoy ourselves to our fullest capacity. In the meantime, take advantage of what is open and enjoy what Orange County has to offer.
